does anyone think it is worth training to become a nurse just to move to Australia? My wife has always wanted to be a nurse but life and kids has got in the way, She is a TA at the moment but losing her job in sep (cutbacks) So i think this is her chance to do it, But the main goal would be to use it to get to Australia.

Oh gosh, that's a hard one! If your wife's only reason for doing the training is to use it to come to Oz, it would be heartbreaking for her to do all that work if you didn't get in for some reason. On the other hand, if nursing is something she would enjoy, doing the training will be really beneficial for your future, whether that turns out to be the UK or Australia.
A big decision for you both, but I'm sure that once you've thought it through you'll come up with the best answer for yourselves. Good luck

I think if your wife has always wanted to be a nurse then this could be an ideal time for her to do it. No point in living with what ifs.
A lot can change in the job market in 4 years, so no point in speculating on it now x
Good luck

If she has always wanted to do it then that is fine, to do it to get to Australia sounds daft to me.

Agreed.
Nursing is hard work. Nurse training is hard work.
You need to WANT to do it not just use it as a means to an end.

So she hasn't even started her training yet?
Like the others said, if it's what she's always wanted to do then yes, she should do it. If it's just to try to get a visa then no, I don't think she should. Nursing (as Kapri said) is very hard work and the training isn't a breeze - trust me, I'm doing it now.

Having not long completed my training as a mum of 4, I will say it was the hardest 3 years of my life, late night, missing out on so much of being a mum. Now I've qualified I am glad I did it but I could have only done because it was 100% what I wanted to do.
A lot can change in three years, if it's what she wants to do then go for it and good luck!!
