Mine was a dark blue Hillman Imp, reg no FBC 263C, cost me 200 in 1967, bought before I could even drive. Had the usual Imp problems, water pump and universal joint, but was a good runner.

A totally unremarkable blue Mazda that was totalled when someone hit the front right wheel from the side at about 10 mph and the whole front end twisted beyond repair.
But my first motorized love was my little 48 cc purple Batavus moped that I used to ride around London.

Hi guys, I'm Michelle and my first car was a 1989 Chrysler New Yorker. No a/c, had to drop it into neutral every time I stopped otherwise it would stall. It was white with light blue leather seats and in florida during the summer, no thanks.

1932 Austin Seven. I was in the middle of building a two seater sport body on it when I was grabbed for national service and had to let it go for a song. Before that, I took the engine in the kitchen to work on it, and put it in the oven at night to get it out of my mum's way.

I wonder if any of you are old enough to remember the Hillman Minx? That was my first car, in Australia, in 1959. Next came my first Beetle - and it's never gotten any better than that.
There's a great song called "Look at Miss Ohio" (link below) about how great it is to drive with the "rag-top" down, in a convertible. My new wife and I did that long ago in Nassau with our first new car, a Triumph TR3, which I blogged about in April last year - if anybody's that interested...
